I don't get my pre-ordered Hero until it is released for sale in the USA on Oct 11, so I can't help you, but do you have the User Guide?  It should tell you in there.  I have been trying to find a User Guide online to get a head's up on how this mobile marvel works, but have not been able to locate one anyplace.

I have noticed a sad lack of chatter about this phone on this forum  Shocked, but maybe that will pick up as we get closer to the US release date.  The Palm Pre Forum was ablaze several months ahead with hopeful users anticipating its release, but has slowed down a lot the last month or so after two to three months in users' hands.

I will be happy to help with this question of transferring pics, etc., as soon as I get my hands on my Hero. Grin

you could always use an sd adapter with a usb port on it.

You have to install HTC Sync on your PC/laptop. Then when you connect your HTC Hero to your PC/laptop, you will get a notification on your HTC Hero. You then need to "Mount" it and then you will see the SD card as a removable drive on your PC/laptop.

How does one get HTC Sync to be able to install it on one's computer?  I don't have my HTC Hero yet (release in US Oct 11), so I don't know what all comes in the box from Sprint.  Is there a disk with HTC Sync in the box, or is HTC Sync available on the HTC web site?

It is available from HTC's website and is located on the sd card that the phone came with.

Thank you.  I did find it Friday at the HTC website after I returned home with my Hero and I was negligent in not coming back into this topic to report that I now have it.  I also downloaded the electronic User Guide from the Sprint information about the phone on Sunday after they started showing it in their available phones.  This is one really cool handset.
