what do you mean when plugged in? Using the phone or actually having it plugged in to the computer? There is an auto-brightness on the phone and then there is the setting for screen on. You can set it for a minute, etc or no dimming. Let us know.

I'm sorry, I meant charging. Where is the setting to trn off the auto dimming? I have it set to keep the screen on while charging, but then it dims in a couple of minutes.

Ok, to turn off auto brightness do the following: MENU/ SETTINGS/SOUNDS & DISPLAYS/BRIGHTNESS/ uncheck auto brightness box.
How to keep screen on without turning off: MENU/ SETTINGS/SOUNDS & DISPLAY/SCREEN TIMEOUT/ Click NEVER TURN OFF
TRY THAT. LET ME KNOW IF IT WORKS OR IF THAT'S WHAT U R LOOKING FOR. THX

Nope, that's not it. What I am trying to stop, is the screen dims after being left alone for a couple of minutes and comes back to full brightness when it is touched. It is a separate function from the auto brightness.

Menu > settings > sound & display > screen timeout > Never turn off. Also menu > settings > applications > development > stay awake. Make sure that both are checked.

Nope. That's not it either. The screen still dims after about 5 min. It does not turn off, it just dims. Thanks for trying though.

It's been reset, etc. There is nothing wrong, it is supposed to dim. I know with the original 1.5, there was a way around it.

Well with mine if I do what I said in my post, the screen will never go dim or go to sleep while plugged in.

Menu, Settings, Applications, Development, Stay Awake (screen will NEVER sleep while charging). This is intended for use by developers that's why it's located where it is.
