I've tried using both Handcent and stock android messaging, and they both resize the image. I  want to be able to send someone a decent size/quality image via MMS without resizing.

Is this possible?  How?

I haven't searched to see if there is a thread but my sending and receiving text pics is working fine. I sent/received over 100 last month. What problem are you having?

I have had this issue as well.  It only happens when receiving a pic from someone using Verizon though.

Until this week, I would get a message indicating the image needs to be resized before it can be sent. Now, I am not getting this message and the picture is going to my friend as a file she needs to download instead of just a picture in the message. I am using Handcent. Are you getting this message that the pic will be resized and are your pics appearing in texts or do your recipients have to download the file?

i may be answering my own question here, but is it wrong for me to assume that if you're tryin' 2 send a pic via a text, 1 would have to change the resolution down to 1M or even small?  whenever i have tried to send a pic to some one, i get an error message saying Sorry unable to attach file, size limit.  now i know i can send it via email, however i'm trying to send it as in a pic mail.  Huh?

Yep, the picture will be resized. I use Handcent for texting but I know the native app works the same way. When I take a picture to send, a little popup shows that says "converting to mms" and when I select a picture from an album, i get a popup that says, resizing image.

i take it Handcent is an app you can download?  & how is different from sending texts in the default format?  thanks in advance.

Yes, you can download it. Handcent offers some features that are different than the native app. Most of us started using it because of the issues with the phone prior to the firmware update. For me, it is a great program so I have continued to use it even though the native app now works just fine.

I am unable to send pictures in text messages.  Downloaded Handcent, changed resolution of camera, turned off wi-fi...still getting "unable to send message".  Now what should I try.

I was using handcent. But now I cant send mms messages. I tried chompsms and the stock one and they both work fine. Sucks cause I like handcent the best.

I know you can up the size of your mms file to 1.2 mg. Maybe try that on the reside issue.
