Sync Outlook contacts with Gmail Contacts

I have downloaded the Google Sync option and I have it running every 120 minutes for my calandar.  I also have it to where if i add a contact in Gmail it will transfer to my phone.  My question is, is there a way to sync contacts from outlook to Gmail?  For example if i add a contact in Outlook it does not synch with my contacts in Gmail, but if i add a contact in Gmail it will sync with my phone but not outlook.   Is there a way to do this?  I would like to ideally just add a contact via outlook and have it sync to my Gmail contacts and be added to my phone, like the calandar now does.  Thanks in advance for anyone's help with this.  Love the Hero so far!!!

p.s. i did a search and couldn't find the answer...I am not on an exchange server if that matters...
