Hi all
Could anybody tell how or even if its possible to transfer my phonebook to my car.
I am afraid I have a double whammy as it is a new phone and a new car so going round in circles a bit
So far I have been able to bluetooth my phone to the car (a toyota prius) and both recognise each other but to transfer my phonebook i get so far then nothing happens according to the car manual the phone needs to support pbap service without operating the phone or if it does not support opp then i cannot use this function and it says that i can only transfer the phonebook data by operating the phone I cant find any info if the phone supports this in the manuals could anybody point me in the right direction or am igoing to have to do it manually

Honestly, I had the same problem and ended up adding one at a time, good luck but I think the limitations on the bluetooth make it impossible to add an entire phonebook via bluetooth to your car.

My car is a 2005 and I had to add them one at a time, then I promptly forgot the nicknames that I gave to duplicates so I never use it.

I presume if I have to add them to the car phone book that as long as they all match up then it will work the same way as if I had been able to transfer the phonebook

Fair assumption I suppose but what I found with my car is that multiple entries for the same person required that I name one John Doe, the next one John Doe Cell, the next one John Doe work. If I had two John's it got a little more complex. Not so much trouble to enter it but more so to remember how I had named each contact. Again, I have a 2005, Acura TL to be exact not a bad car by any means but 2005 was a long time ago when it comes to technology. So, maybe what's out there today is  better able to handle it. I just wish this phone would automatically transfer calls to the car when I'm in the car. It's totally hit or miss.
