First off, I just wanted to say thanks to all the people that have answered my questions and have helped me along the way (you know who you are).  I'm on my 3rd HTC Hero phone since Feb., have spoke with with many folks from salespeople to administrative supervisors about my numerous problems associated with the Hero and have got told a lot of b.s. about them being "lemons" and sent out another or that I'll just have to wait for the update to resolve my issues.  I'm tired of the nonstop issues with this phone so I have my new HTC Evo4 phone on reserve to pick up on Friday.  I have never had a phone as lousy as the Hero, so it can only get better from here.  I wish you all good luck with your phone and hope that not everyone has Hero issues like I do.

sorry to here that but what makes you think that the evo4g is gona be any better i really blame htc because it was there update and even though they took for ever the phone still sucks. i thought about getting the evo4g but i have a feeling the same is gona happen even though i really really want it but like i said htc is really letting me down i feel they are just worying about the next phone and not really trying to keep their loyal fans of the company in making stupid and defective phones i dont even know if ill ever get another htc again but for now im staying with the hero till further notice.

Had mine for less than a month. Never had so much problems with any appliance before, not even compared to Win 95!

Though I can use the basic phone functions but then I can do that with a cheaper and simpler Nokia. Just wonder whether buying the Hero is a good idea. It is certainly no hero, more like a villain.

At the moment if anyone comes up with a reasonable offer ..........

I have also been forced to ditch my Hero in favour of the EVO. As a medical professional I need a dependable phone. My Hero was anything but reliable. The last month that I used it, it was quite nearly useless. I ended up paying for my EVO outright, no subsidy -- it was money well-spent. My wife held on to her 3+ year old Samsung Instinct, because she had no interest in the grief I was going through with my Hero. After watching me using my new EVO for the last two weeks, she went and used her upgrade to get herself a new EVO of her own today.

Although the phone was cr@ppy, the people at this forum are great and wonderful. I thank all who made me feel welcome and took the time and made  the effort to help and teach me!

Ya'll with the Evos check out our sister site, http://www.evo4gforum.net/index.php.  Plenty of people from here(myself included) migrated over there.   Wink
