I Just purchased this phone a couple of weeks ago and I love it.. But, I was just reading phonedog.com and they are releasing the Nexus One on the sprint network soon! So excited!! I'm still under the 30 days so I shouldn't have any issues returning the phone to await the nexus phone. Sorry Hero- Faithful's, nothing against the phone but I prefer the Nexus One.  Grin

Nexus One would be BAD-ASS! But for now...this is driving me NUTS! I want some REAL news about ANY kind of update! When I try to update firmware screen never gets past "Firmware Update : Device is preparing your services. Please wait..." Is there an update I missed out on? Am I the only one running 1.5? All I can find on the web are outdated rumors!

The June delay report is only for the European version of the Hero as of today. Sprint has not announced any delays yet. The last Sprint statement said that they were still on track for early Q2 which ends on May 15.

When I was at the Sprint store Tuesday, the tech said that it looked like maybe June before 2.1 would come.

Well, having worked at Sprint for 8 years and working with the repair techs since then, who do install upgrades, etc., I beg to differ. But I suspect this is like trying to convince my teenage grandchildren of something...

In support of someone doesn't know. Sprint said it's going to be MAY. It was all over Engadget, Android and Me, and Android Central. I got several tweets about it. However, this is not something that I would expect a tech in a Sprint store to know. Regardless 2.2 is coming so the Sprint Hero will still be outdated.
