hey,

the camera on my Hero is awful as someone had all ready described before, i realised it had to do with some feature, i read up here that the auto focus can be changed, however when i checked on my cam's settings there was no option of auto focus.
could it be my firmware(its 1.5)?
is there a newer one? where can i upgrade from?
will it erase my root user?

will appreciate your replies,

Lidar

Everyone has the same version. Go to camera/menu/settings scroll down and there should be an option to turn auto focus off and on.

thanx for the quick response,
but i have checked the cam's settings athousand times(and there arent a lot of options there)
there is no option of auto focus. all i have is this:
review after capture , quality , time stamp , widescreen , storage , geo-tag photos , shutter sound , Image properties , effect, metering mode, flicker adjustment , grid and reset.
see i dont have the auto focus option.

darlidar, i was having a problem with focusing images even with the auto-focus on. if you end up with the same issue, you may want to try FxCamera in the marketplace. the autofocus is AWESOME and it's right on the screen when you are taking the picture.  Plus there are some fun effects to play with.

not sure if this will help but you can take your pictures by keep touching the screen as oppose to using the trackball.

I've a tip for using the Hero in Low light, go into settings while using the camera and change Image Properties / Contrast to -2, suddenly the camera is a whole load better! Grin
