Yes, I did it when I first got the phone. It's been a while and I forgot what I did. It can be done. SJC180

That's not a bug! It's a feature request...

You nerd need to download the HTC Sync software. I think it is loaded in the original Micro SD card that came with the phone.

I just use Gmail. I can put my contacts into the phone or into my Gmail account using a computer. I don't have to connect my phone to the computer and I don't have to keep up with syncing anything. If I add a contact to my phone or to my Gmail account, it's automatically sync'd. I am all about hands off. Also, if my computer crashes I don't have to worry about losing my contacts.

I didn't know that contacts are backed up to GMail. Maybe that's why I never loose my contacts when I reset the phone... Nice! Hey, What does this mean? <sn>id:598695233/friendof:770404324</sn> Some of my contacts in GMail have a string like this...

Yeah, having contacts in Gmail and one place to get apps makes resetting this phone easier than any phone that I have ever owned.

Okay, i seem to be having a problem. I have my phone set to auto-sync everything with gmail, but my contacts on my phone aren't in my gmail account. did i miss something in the set up?

Soooo.... Here are my adventures from today. There is no option to change a contact type to Google once it's already in the phone (the option exists when entering a new contact). So after searching the net i found an article: http://www.drhotdog.net/android-linux-and-google/changinggoogleaccountsettingsonanhtchero and decided to give it a try, how hard could it be? Well i was at a sprint store (boyfriend got the MR for the Moment) and was talking to the guys about it. They weren't sure what to tell me, so I went ahead and deleted out my gmail account from my phone. I went in to add it and was getting a horrid error every time about data reliability or something. Anywho, i connected my phone to my PC to Outlook to back up my contacts, knowing that i was going to lose all my settings and apps by doing a hard reset (and i have a LOT of apps). I did it anyways, and re-loaded my contacts from Outlook. Guess what?!?!?!?!?!? I still can't sync my stupid contacts to Gmail. I would settle for Outlook, but i hate that i have to connect to do it, and my Outlook is my work account, i don't use it that much (i'm in inside sales). Argh. I've googled everything i can and i've come up with nothing. Short of re-entering all my contacts, i've got nothing. how sad for me Anywho, thanks for your help f3.

Did you try converting your Outlook Contacts to a .csv file and then importing them into Gmail and then seeing if they will sync? http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=8301
