I also had the original Instinct (m800).  I think I was one of the few that actually loved that phone. Well that was until the last update that they rolled back.  After that I could not view pdf's anymore, which sucks because that is how I get my service tickets.  I was just about to get the Pre, but no visual voicemail meant no phone (it really is a deal breaker to me).  My first impression of this phone is that it is so much nicer in both looks and feel than I thought it would be from the sneak peak videos I have seen of it.  And for some reason it looks smaller than what I had thought it would be. Other than that, I have only had it for about 4 hours now, and I just got home, so I have not had any real time to play with it. I did play with the demo one at BB, and I think I am going to love this thing.

I am also having problems setting up my exchange server from work, so siymay if you figure that one out before me let me know how you resolved it, thanks.

I've had my Hero for two days now and I'm liking everything about it. I've downloaded some applications but running out of internal memory. Is there anyway to put the applications on the SD card without rooting or voiding the phone?

If this is in the wrong place sorry mods. This is the only place with more people.

The hero is an excellent phone. I'm am very happy with giving up my instinct for it. It has alot of features that I like and the only problem is running out of internal memory, but I'm sure they will fix that. Overall it was a good choice for me. If you want search google for sprint htc hero video reviews, and you should be more than satisfied with them.

Has anyone tries Opera Mini or the Bolt browser on the Hero. How do they work? Can u save stuff direct to the SD card? Can u do the same from the phone browser?

Alright,
Here is the problem I am running into. All the applications you download that are not widgets, use the phones internal memory. I guess you could get a taskkiller from the market, but I have a 4GB memory card in the phone right now. I know from reading on other forums and such T-Mobile phones can be rooted(voids any warranty), but applications can be stored on the SD card. I do not want to root my phone and void the warranty. So I was wondering if Sprint and Android would allow us to put the applications on the SD card?

I was just at 115 mb of memory on the phone; I downloaded some Blast game; and now the internal memory is at 108 mb.

Opera works, and downloads directly to sd card quickly. Still, I like the stock browser and the Steel browser better. But opera works fine.

Yes, it does.  The more I learn about and use this phone, the more I love it.

I have been watching NFL TV all day, and the video hasn't really pixelated or frozen at all, and it is amazingly clear. How can this be so much better than the Instinct with the same network?

I have had no issues with the WiFi.  It connects easy and remembers your connections if you want it to do so.  You can delete old connections (one time connections).  This is my first WiFi phone so I have no comparison.  Works for me though.  I'm sure it's a battery killer.  It does switch you back to EvDO when not in range of any devices.  That's all I can really say that I know about it so far.  Hope it helps.
