Wow. sounds like we all had instincts.. I also had one. There is no comparing this to the instinct. Although, I do like the fact that samsung gave a sd adaptor, extra battery and headphones with mic. What the hell is with the silly charger we have now? Come on. Htx phone is great but the stuff they supply you with could have been better

I don't think the users with the Instinct S30 had the extra battery.  Only those of us with the original Instinct (m800) got that.  Plus it had a cool battery holder for the extra battery that was also the charger, I use to carry that in my pocket when I knew I was going to be at a site all night.

I thought they could have gave a little more also, but with HTC that is usually all you get. Some headphones would have been nice, maybe that is asking too much.

I guess HTC thinks adding a headphone jack (the first on the android platform) was all they could afford.

I haven't gotten my hero yet. I'm due for an upgrade in November and plan on getting one then.
Does anyone have any thoughts on which vendor is the best to purchase an upgrade from?

Personally I would go to Best Buy.  If you have a Best Buy credit card you get 45 days to return something instead of the usual 30 and if your transaction is over $200 you get 90 days interest free. At least the ones around me offer that.  You will not have to wait 6 months to get your $100 MIR either.

I love the phone so far, but my issue is the battery life, can someone please explain in a little more detail what these "appkiller" apps are, do they hurt your phone?  I know i am being way to cautious but coming from the intstinct i am not very familiar with android and all the cool apps out there right  now.  By the way Shopsavvy and Where are very, very cool.  Thanks for any help!!!

An "appkiller" is essentially just that.  It closes an application so it does not run in the background and drain your battery that much faster.  From what I have read on this for android you definitely want one.  Smiley

Thanks for the advice on the appkiller. I had no idea I had so many apps running in the background. I used Task Panel and freed up 10 mb of memory.

Also use WiFi as much as you can to help save battery life.  It uses less battery (as long as it is not searching for a connection).  Plus it is faster than 2g/3g.  Went all day 8+ hours without battery going into the yellow.  Still alot more drain than my previus phone but thats a whole different story.
