I didn't want the Evo but stopped at Radio Shack this morning and they opened a few minutes before 7 and they had some that weren't reserved. Like always, I got caught up in the moment and now I own the Evo. Sprint was going to give me 70 for the Hero, the guy at RS is giving me 80. So, I got the Evo for 120. That will offset the additional 10 bucks I now have to pay each month.

Have fun with the Hero it's an awesome phone.

Congrats! I was wanting the Evo also but can not justify the extra $10/mo to use it. If you would, please let us know how well the phone works though! I could change my mind, lol.

I can't really justify it either so I called Sprint downgraded from the Simply Everything to 900 minutes and the manager gave me 10% off of my bill. So, I am not any worse off. But, after using the Skyfire browser on the Evo for a minute I can see how one would burn up data. That damn browser (using 3G) is just as fast as my DSL 6mbps at home. So yeah, I will definitely surf the web using my phone way more than I ever did using the Hero. This 1GHz processor make so much difference - I think. I'm not sure because the native browser still seems slow.

For some reason, I'm getting a lot more "forced close" on the apps that I ever did on the Hero but I hope this will be resolved. I was also surprised to find that Handcent isn't optimized for this phone. They are going to have to redo it or just make it not compatible with the Evo. I'm using the native messaging app and it's fine. We got an update hours after the phone was released to fix the memory card issue so I bet if there is a problem with the "forced close" that HTC can fix they will.

Bluetooth is still an issue for me. I have a 2005 Acura TL and with both Android phones, syncing the phone/car has always been an issue. I also miss being able to have a call come in through the car's bluetooth. I guess I am willing to deal because I like Android so much. Going to try and resync again shorty.

Not much more to say except, bigger -screen size and processor - is BETTER!
