I've been having problems with the ear phone jack working. When the phone is in its original state, they work find, but after i load it up with apps, the head phone jack quits working. The only way i get it back is to do a complete reset. Any ideas?
Thanks

Interesting note; I didn't install any new apps this morning. Nothing changed. All of a sudden the jack quit working. Did it to me this weekend and the only thing i could do to fix it was to reset phone. Are we sure its an app doing the damamge? Is there a way to manually turn the jack on and off?

I would bet you have a faulty jack. I would just take it back and get a new one.

I know there was a problem with not getting stereo  sound.

interesting...if it is truly a hardware issue...i am suprised that a hard reset would recover it...either way...taking it back...

Yeah, the UI is working so hard with your "LOAD" of apps, it drops the voltage
of the headphone jack. There is no regulated power supply here. That, and you should always hear a click when inserting your
headphone plug.

That's a pretty big deal to me.

Is this problem widespread and persistent?

One of the primary reasons that I want to get the Hero in Nov. when my upgrade cycle comes around is to listen to podcasts on it.

I don't know if I want one when I could be sure to get that functionality w/o issue on the Pre.

It's probable that the jack is defective in an odd way. The more I think about it, the more I really don't know.

I wouldn't let this prevent you from getting a Hero. I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem, I bet I have a faulty jack or something. Other than that, the phone is killer.
