Does the Hero change orientation on the Home screen? Mine has never changed but this morning for some reason it did it once and now it won't do it again. I am just wondering if the phone should change orientation on the home screen.

It was very odd. I reset my phone yesterday and this morning I was waiting for an app to install so I went back to "home" and put the phone down. When I looked down, I was like, WTF, that screen is in landscape mode. When I tried to get it to do it again, it wouldn't. Very odd.

Yeah, right now it should not do that.  In 2.1 it will.   Grin

It's just nice to be able to hold the phone either way and have it adjust on any screen. This is handy when it's laying on my desk and I just want to glance over at it.

I agree 100%.  A few of the games I play are automatic landscape, so sometimes I just hold the phone that way and scroll up and down through my screens LOL.

I figured it out. The landscape orientation occurs when I have the phone in laying on my desk in the landscape position and a text message comes through. The text message popup box causes the entire screen to re-orientate to landscape mode. I can't do anything on the screen except respond to the text but clearly somewhere behind the scenes, it is possible for the entire screen to re-orientate right now without any updates. Very interesting.
