For the last 2 days I cannot get my GPS to work I get an error "No GPS, please move to open area".   It opens up the application fine, I go to my favorites to choose a location once I hit a specific location it takes forever to load that location (3-4 minutes) then it gives me the error reference above.  Anyone else having this issue?  My wife was in the car with me at the time, I took out her blackberry with sprint and it opened just fine and gave us directions.  Any help is appreciated.

Try google maps and see if it finds your location.  If it does, then your gps is working.  If it does NOT, then you gps maybe off.  Check it in your settings.  There is a GPS switch widget you can add to your screens.  Make sure that it is on.  Try them again.  If still does not work, you may need to reset the device.

What they said plus, the sprint app gets the maps from the cell network. Meaning that you need full signal in order for the sprint app to work, you will get GPS signal, download GPS status to confirm GPS signal and its a cool app to show off to your friends, speedometer, altitude etc.. but with the sprint app all maps are downloaded via the cell network, both GPS signal and cell signal need to be working well for that app to work.

Also try other apps like AndNav from the market place, plenty alternatives for the native sprint app

Removing the battery and putting it back in usually solves the minor issues.

Yeah, something not working the one time I need it is the story of my life. Anyway, why not just use Google Navigation if you have updated your phone to 2.1? It has voice guided navigation and I bet it comparable to the Telenav program. Also, if you can't get the GPS to work, you might want to try a soft reset on your phone...perhaps the program is just a bit "confused".
