Hello, just got the phone so pretty cluless as yet, I may as well start with a question, i added the facebook android widget but i cant close it, there is no "log out" option, so how do you close programmes without having to go to the force stop option?

All apps that you open run in the background. If you want Facebook to close, which there really isn't a reason because it is integrated with your Contacts, you will have to get an app from the Marketplace.

Hey everybody, glad to be a part of the Hero community. I changed my HTC Touch for the Hero and it took a minute to get use to but I'm really lovin this phone. The apps are crazy, I spend more time just playing with it than talking on it. I showed my friends the piano app and they loved it. The CNet barcode scanner is awesome. This is my favorite phone so far.

Hi my name is Phil.
I bought my HTC Hero about week and half ago and I'm very impressed it. Just tying to get my head round when I try to install apps via active sync on my netbook it kills my internet on my netbook, and deletes my drivers.
Cheers
Phil

Hi, my name is Mike, call me by name or username, either is okay. Ordered my Sprint Hero last week, should have it tomorrow, it's waiting for me in Baltimore. I'm an Over The Road Trucker, I haul cars, hence the "carhauler1969" username. I'm 'newish' to smartphones, had a BB 8330, hated it, currently using the wife's Instinct s30, which we are not too fond of. We initially thought the Instinct was close to an iPhone... NOT!!! Though there are more apps for the instinct now, but we're quite disillusioned with it overall.
Before deciding on the Hero, I read all of the reviews on Sprint's website for the 2 phones I was interested in, the other was the Samsung Intrepid. Honestly I'm a little scared of Win Mobile, but the Intrepid has incredible battery life. Then I got to play with my Stepdaughter's HTC Droid Eris (Verizon), love the Android OS, so hopefully I'll like the Hero since it seems to be a step up from the Eris.
Any one seen or purchased the 3500mAh battery & cover from Seidio Innocell on Phandroid?

Welcome to the site! The Hero is an amazing phone. You won't look back at the S30.
I purchased the Mugen battery and it seems to work fine. I get the best battery life if I length the time that my email syncs. I have 3 email accounts including Gmail and the more often they sync, the faster the battery drains.

What's Up!
My name is Beamie and I'm from Philly. I've been employed for 30 years at the same job. I'm a machinist, but I also own my own business configuring and repairing PC's.
I'm married with grown children along with grandchildren. I enjoy drag racing, auto racing, building speakers, doing custom installs in home, offices, and cars. I'm a Trustee at my church and I'm head of the Media Ministry that goes on there.
I've had my "Super" Hero since December and I totally enjoy it. I crashed it once and locked it up once. That's impressive to me compared to the other the phones I used to have.
Now, I have to get back to editing some more audio. I picked up a new toy and I'm impressed with it so far. It's a ZOOM H2 digital recorder. Got it two days ago and I'm already mastering this joker and recorded some impressive sounds, some of which I'm going to turn into ringtones.
Be BLESSED everyone.
