Hello all!
My name is Herb, and I am planning on purchasing a HTC-Hero tomorrow upgrading from a Touch Pro. From what I am reading, the Hero is the way to go. I was deciding between this and a Blackberry. Looking forward to learning all I can from the fourms!

Hey everyone!
I just switched from AT&T and the iPhone 3GS to Sprint and the HTC Hero. I must say that I'm very happy so far and looking forward the functionality that Android offers.

Hello everyone,
My name is Michael. I had my Hero for about 3 weeks. I love it totally. I won't give up the Hero for even the iphone. It is soooooo fun to use. I never thought using mobile phone can be so fun. The level of customization is almost limitless.
Btw, sorry to mention. I tried the invisible shield on my Hero. As much as it is tough and resilient but it makes the screen not as smooth when my finger slide across it. So i removed it. The shield also covers the side, but then I lost the feel of the nice aluminum metal, so I removed it as well. In the end I had the shield only on the back cover, which is ideal as it provides a bit more friction when I hold it in my hands. So for those of you thinking of installing the invisible shield, take note of my experience.

Hey all, I'm Tony. Got my Hero about 5 days ago. Really like it, as it is a huge upgrade from my samsung... umm... the one that flips open both ways... but the older version. I left Verison for this phone so I hope that Sprint's network worth it.

hello everyone!
I'm Danielle, and i am getting the hero on sunday, and have been researching and reading the reviews for this phone since it's release overseas. I am very excited about this phone, as most of you all are :-)
I had a BB, went back to the LG rumor (to lower my monthly bill), and am gladly going to go to the hero.
Question for current Hero users - a reviewer on phonearena.com mentioned that there was a lag while texting. Has anyone else noticed this? My biggest complaint of BB was always that in a texting world, their idea of "threaded" texting was not threaded... and of course the rumor is.. well awful.

Hello danidiva, welcome to the forum. There is a lag with the text messages but I believe this issue will be corrected soo either with a firmware update or the release of donut or eclair which ever one comes first.

Hi - First post. I just signed on to Sprint to upgrade my phone, thinking maybe I would just get a better Blackberry, and found the new Hero. Looked around the web, watched videos, found you guys, among other sites, and went for it. It should arrive in a couple of days. Since I am a big Google-head, I do expect to take to it pretty well. But this will be my first Android phone. Frankly, I would have been an iPhone person (*ducks from rotten tomatoes*) if I didn't live in NYC where AT&T is notoriously awful. I do have two concerns about this device. One - the internal memory seems small for all of the great apps one can get. I know there is a memory card slot, and I read something here about "rooting" (which is Chinese to me -- no offense to the native Chinese speakers) and something else about "killing?" apps so that they don't run in the background when you're not using them (which seems like it should be unnecessary, but anyway) --- how is it that one can download all of these applications with so little storage AND operating memory?? Also - I looked around (and will probably post this in the appropriate forum) but no one seems to have mentioned the calendar. One of the things I hated about the Blackberry (and missed about the Palm OS) is the Calendar. Can anyone tell me about it on the Hero? Or are there any good (free or otherwise) Calendar apps? (I assume Google Calendar is native w/this phone?) To be honest, I use google calendar(s) all the time, but I don't love them. Thanks! /tsw
