Hey chickadee^^ glad you made the switch. I'ce had my Hero about a week and love it also. I if you saved your contacts from Sprint's web site you can import them into Google's contacts and then they will sync to your phone. I ordered an invisible shield online and received it yesterday. I will put it in tonight and see. Glad to see some former Inctinctonians.

LOL @ Boosted...I guess you have been over on the Instinct forum today... Nope, I didn't save them because I was counting on a seemless sync. Oh well, I have so many things to learn on this phone, I have almost forgotten about the contacts for the time being. Also, many of them did come in from Google and Facebook. I am getting ready to order a cover from Ebay. I like the ones the fit like a turtle shell.

Dale. I had the HD for a full 30 days and liked it a lot especially the camera. However, within seconds of getting the Hero, my first thought was, I was going to pay 200 bucks for the HD and now I am getting all of this for 179. Don't get me wrong, the Hero does have some things that aren't perfect. When I compared to the HD to the Hero, the Instinct is just a phone with a great camera, whereas the Hero is an amazing smartphone/computer with an ok camera. I already have plenty of cameras;)

The phone sync option seems to be hit or miss. I tried a couple of times but I am tired of making my phone do what I want it to do so I tried the free trial of PDA Net and it worked like a charm. So, I just paid the onetime 30 bucks now I tether with no problem.

No lag at all. I am not using the native texting app, I am using Handsent. It offers speech to text, text to speech, smileys. You can change the background color, ballon layout, etc for the entire program and for individual contacts. Assign specific ringtones for texts too. When a new message comes in, it doesn't interrupt anything that you might be doing on the phone. In portrait mode, the keyboard is definitely cramped but it works for very short messages. Landscape mode - I have no complaints. I am just waiting for a "donut"!

That's not new....they don't sell a tethering plan to those of use that have the Everything Plan. I think that some people were "grandfathered' in. They have smartphones but are not on the Everything Plan so they are paying Sprint the 15 bucks for the tethering plan. I believe that is what the statement is referring to.. In 2010, Sprint will not sell tethering to anyone that has a smartphone and those that have it will not longer be exempt. Those of us that "don't have it" will continue on status quo. Because the android phone is open source, I don't see how Sprint can do anything to stop people from creating programs that allow us to tether. On phones that are not open source, I can see where Sprint could definitely control the apps that are able to be used on the phone. Thoughts???
