Well I saw a post for this but it was only info on the forum. I'm going to get the evo. What do you all think of it? I'd do more searching and posting but I'm on the blackberry .
Thanks for your input

I'm getting an N1. I want a phone that doesn't come out with outdated firmware or if it does, it will be the first on the block to get updated. I am curious to see how long it's going to take for the Evo to get updated to 2.2.

Yeah me to, word around the net is mid-end July.  I'll believe it when I see it.  LOL I'm cool with just having 2.1.  On good thing is the EVO has already been rooted so come October when I upgrade the sky is the limit.

i would imagine that the main reason it takes so long for htc to release software updates is htc sense and the other things that htc adds to standard android software.  sprint also has to make sure its programs work properly with the new software.

Well, the good news recently is that Google is going to a once/year update model. I guess they have been trying to get Android to a certain point before they begin a more manageable update schedule. With once/year updates,  it won't matter as much which Android phone I have because if my phone is behind in updates, it will only be one version not 3 or 4.

On my 4th day of ownership I dropped it and broke the screen but I can see everything with no problem. I'm one of the lucky ones.  The phone is amazing and I am thrilled that I bought it!  Even using 3g data moves so much faster. I now surf the net using the phone and it's enjoyable. Pandora plays without any glitches. This processor makes,a huge difference.

I have been an htc hero user for about a year now and am getting ready to switch to an evo. What are the ads I've been seeing about an AT&T htc evo?

You are thinking about the Aria, it looks just like the Evo but about a third the size and the specs suck on it.

Nope.  It had a picture of the phone standing with it's stand and I am sure they said htc evo 4G.   I wasn't paying too much attention to the ad, I saw it standing by itself, but by the time I focused on the ad, it was just ending.  I guess I'll have to keep watching for the ad again and see if I am ready to be committed or not.
