Well, I've been living with the "Hero", which should have been named "ZERO". What a piece of crap!! Doing any-frickin-thing on this phone requires you to go to the web to find out how to do it. The "user manual" should be renamed "looser manual", as all you do is waste time looking for answers to seemingly easy questions.
After downloading ringtones......from the HTC website.... they do not show up in the ringtone selection area. Hmm. That seems like the logical place, but no. So, they are on your SD card... Ok. How do you get them to show up?
I used to have a windows mobile phone, and as cranky and quirky as it was.... there was a simple "set as ringtone" option that you could click on any sound clip, even if it was one of you singing the ABC's.
HTC should have spent more money on directions and instructions on how to use their piece of crap, and less money on the 10,000,000 dollars they spend on advertising said crap.
I HATE THIS PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are one of those people who just want something to work, which is fine, but the beauty of Android phones is the ability to customize it pretty much to your liking. The downfall of customization is that it is more complicated. I hope you move on to an easier phone to use, such as the Instinct HD (if you are looking for a full featured phone) Good luck in your journy to find a phone that fits you. Dale

I believe you offended everyone on here, this phone is not a piece of crap, Android is awesome, i understand where your coming from though, if you download AndroZip which i like best, or Astro, you can get easy access to your (sdcard) i hope everything works out for you, your just not use to the Android OS , and that's okay, but you have a phone way better than what you had (windows mobile) this has linux on it, bottom line, it's a good phone, you should get with someone that can show you the proper way to use it. hope this helps.

well setting ringtones is very simple, that does not sound complicated at all, so not sure what he/or she is having a problem with, a Sprint Tech can easily show the basics on how to do this or that, and it's all in your book, and if not that's what this site is for.

The Moment will piss you off too if you arent willing to put some work into it. look at the forum..full of ppl who "hate" the phone. as Android becomes more mainstream it will also become more and more user friendly. Dale

Android has the same "problem" as linux has with becoming a mainstream OS. People arent willing to take the time to learn how it works. This is one reason why the iphone is so popular...it just works OOTB....altho the customization choices are limited (unless you are willing to jailbreak). Dale

I just don't understand what's so hard about Android although I have read several articles that indicate Android is not for the average user. When I got the phone I thought OMG, I will have to read the manual cover/cover. Didn't happen. I started messing with the phone and figured out a lot of what I needed to know. For the rest, I poked around the Internet and forums. This phone does exactly what I want it to do. I have even considered hacking it but I can't see a benefit for me right now.

you are used to figuring things out (Instinct). Now that smartphones are becoming cheaper and more mainstream you are getting alot of new users that are not ready for owning a smartphone. if you look at the 2 big smart phone OS's Android and WM, Both have a learning curve.....something that some people just dont want(which is fine). These people need to be looking at the higher end feature phones and not a smartphone. Dale
