[ROM] ZenEXP-0.9.6.2 New Expresso MT3G Slide Landscape Rosie. Overclocked. Updated.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a port of the new MyTouch 3G Slide with the newest Expresso UI.

This is based on the newest expresso/sense frameworks with built in theme switcher and customizable number of home screens (5 or 7) and landscape Rosie, Htc Music, and Weather

Just to avoid any confusion this is a ROM from the HTC Expresso / MyTouch 3G Slide. It's not a theme over the Sprint 2.1.
They way this ROM looks is completely stock aside from removing the pink Tmobile icons and branding and changing the notification bar.

Warning: This has different frameworks than the Sprint 2.1. Do not flash any lock screen or mod made for any other ROM.

You must already be rooted and have a custom recovery installed.

Why is this so special?
New Expresso launcher
New Dialer/Contacts
Expresso Themes/Modes (way better than scenes)
Friend Stream widget/app
News/RSS widget/app
Recent apps in notification dropdown
Enhanced Browser with quicklookup and text selector bars(Like the Legend)
Set number of home screens in rosie (5 or 7)
Landscape Expresso Rosie, HTC Music and Weather app

This a fork of the disclaimer taken from Cyanogenmod: It applies to all rooted roms.

Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
 * Congratulations your warranty is now void.

 * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
 * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed or gmail did
 * not sync. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features

 */As always:
Reboot into a Custom Recovery
Nandroid backup
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Flash ROM
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You must do a full wipe before flashing. Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
If you use the A2SD you must wipe your ext partition before flashing.
If you have trouble booting this then wipe again and reflash the rom.
If you still have trouble download the files again. I'll post md5sums if needed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd like to give a big thanks to toastcfh and zippy-man for this release. With out zippy-man we'd still be on 0.9.4.2 and without toast's kernel we'd still be running stock.

/Begin rant
You don't need a partitioned sdcard to run this. But you do need your sdcard partitioned if you want A2SD and you need to wipe your ext partition before flashing this rom. A2SD is automatic on all 0.9.6x builds. Your dalvik-cache will stay on internal memory if you use A2SD. It's more stable that way and honestly makes more sense. Just for the record not using internal storage does not mean that you'll have more ram to use. Nand (which is your internal storage) and RAM (which is your memory) are two separate things. You have plenty of space on data. Using it isn't going to slow your phone down. I can understand the need to move apps to your sdcard because you can run out of room on /data with a shit ton of apps. /End rant

How to use overclock widget instead of setcpu:
Download it from the market and add the widget to your home screen.
Tap on the widget.
Goto advanced settings.
Make sure "Use your frequencies" is checked.
Tap on "Detect frequencies". Scroll down to the bottom and tap save.
Tap on the overclock widget again and you should be able to set your frequencies.

How to use setcpu:
Download it from xda it's free for xda members: Link or Buy it from the market.
Once installed it will ask for root access. Superuser will pop up. Pick always allow.
On the device selection screen scroll down to Custom Frequencies. It will read the values from the setcpu.txt installed on your sdcard.
Now you should be able to set your custom frequencies. I've found max 691 to be the optimal. YMMV
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update for ZenEXP-0.9.6.2: This is not a full rom it's an update to 0.9.6.2. This update will replace some libs with updated versions as well as set the default min clock speed to 245 and the max to 691 and the cpu governor to ondemand so that there is no need to use setcpu or overclock widget unless you want to use custom values. This update will also fix voice search. Flash this through recovery. No wipe required. If you are doing a fresh install then Flash ZenEXP-0.9.6.2 first and then flash this update directly after without rebooting.
Download:

Addon AOSP keyboard with voice input: Flash this through recovery on any version. It should also work for any 2.1 rom.
Download:

ZenEXP-0.9.6.2OC Toasted: ROM This is an updated version of 0.9.6 with optimized and odexed apks for those that want to test it. A full wipe is required. The setcpu.txt should be copied to your sdcard on install. Download and install setcpu and use the custom frequencies at the bottom of the device selection screen or use overclock widget.
Download

ZenEXP-0.9.6OC Toasted: ROM This rom will automatically wipe your data partition. So make a nandroid backup before hand. This build can be overclocked if you choose. If not then just use overclock widget(instructions above) to set it to 528mhz max which is stock speed. It is based on toasts older #65 kernel with no BFS and no compcache/ramzswap.
Download:

Themes: The stock themes are now available via the Updater or scroll down this post and there is a link to download them.

Mobile networks option in Wireless & networks will force close this is because this rom was built for a gsm device and of course we use a cdma phone. (I had this working but it was causing problems with the dialer. Next release...)

If you use vvm you will get two notifications of new voice mails. Annoying but I don't use it anyway.

This is an amazing ROM! Out of all that I have tried recently this rocks especially clocked at 768! Great work! I received my replacement with 1.5 on it thank god and quickly rooted and tried about 10 different ROMS, this is by far the quickest and best looking! I am really interested in what add-ons are available for it as well..
