is there an app out there that will let me use ringtones or other music as my alarm?

You can from the stock alarm. On the screen that you set the alarm time tap on the alarm sound. Select music.

That option disappeared on my phone when I updated it from 1.6.  I did find an app that brought thr music tab back. "Alarm Clock MAX"
