I got a new computer and I am not able to sync my phone or view my files. It "sees" my phone when it is plugged in but won't sync. I updated my phone today and now it is not even recognizing that it is plugged in - not charging or bringing up the sync options on the phone. Anyone know how to fix this? I need to be able to sync my calendar and want to control my music, etc from my computer.

Hi, I had the same problem this last year when I bought my new Window 7 PC...supposedly the HTC Hero software is not Windows 7 compatible.  It syncs with only Vista or XP...At least there hasn't been a software update that I'm aware of yet.  So I've had to save & export my Outlook contacts and calendar as a file,  then save to my USB then upload to my Outlook on my Vista PC and sync my phone from there.  I've also saved the files (contacts and calendar) to my SD card and opened them up with the individual apps on my phone to sync into those apps.

Either way, it's a pain because syncing the phone back to the PC takes time because I have work backwards to get the updates to my Windows 7....  For now its the only way I know that works.  At least not until there are HTC software updates for the Windows 7 OS.
